BOSTON — The Marblehead girls and Peabody boys indoor track teams came away as winners at the Northeastern Conference Championship meet Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center.

The Lady Magicians jumped out to a five-point lead after the first three events and never looked back, finishing with 121 points and running rough-shod over the the rest of the field and leaving runner-up Masconomet (76 points), third-place Beverly (74 points) and fourth-place Peabody (64 points) in the rear-view mirror. Swampscott (10 points) and Saugus (6 points) finished seventh and eighth, respectively.

The boys’ meet came down to a two-team battle between Peabody (117.5 points) and Beverly (94 points). The Tanners tallied points in every event, sealing their first-place finish with wins in the 4×200 (Kobe Avery, Abou Kaba, Eli Batista, Doryln Morel; 1:32.59) and 4×800 (Charles Alviti, Declan Smith, Ryan Faletra, Owen Brennan; 8:41.49) relays. Alex Jackson recorded the lone individual win, taking the gold medal in the shot put with a 59-09.25 heave.

Marblehead’s Paige Tredwell was the top star of the day in the girls meet, winning the high jump (PR 5-02) and 55-meter hurdles (8.91). She also finished fifth in the long jump with a PR 15-03.50.

Ava Machado (7.48) led a sweep in the 55-meter dash with Sadie Halpern (7.53) right behind in second place and LaDaisha Williams (7.59) taking third. The trio also shined in the 300 with Williams winning the gold in 42.0, Halpern placing second with a PR 42.13 and Machado placing fourth with a PR 42.91.

Other Magicians posting third-place finishes included Elise Burchfield in the 55 hurdles (PR 9.29), Kate Twomey in the 1,000 (PR 3:11.97), Philine Heuermann (5-00) in the high jump, Rachael Albert (PR 31-11) in the shot put and Cat Piper in the 2-mile (PR 12:34.78).

Kyra Buckley was the top performer for the Tanners. She won the 2-mile with a PR 12:21.33. Allesandra Forgione placed second in the shot put with a PR 33-01.75. Sofia Schirripa finished third in the mile with a PR 5:42.98, while Yosmery Batista, Madison Barrett, Ava Champigny and Stella D’Ambrosio placed second in the 4×400 relay (4:18.51).

Other Tanners in the top-three included Shailize Franco, Makayala Kokonezis, Marissa Simmons and Gianna Sinibaldi. Third in the 4×200 relay (1:53.39) were Sofia Schirripa, Brooke Lomasney, Buckley and Jane Haight, third in the 4×800 (11:07.79).

Swampscott’s top individual effort came from Cecilia O’Connor. She finished fifth in the shot put (31-01.00). Veronica Swiercz, Liv Beatrice, Madison Marsh and Jane Raymond finished fourth in the 4×400 (5:00.13). 

Destiny Okoye was the top performer for Saugus, finishing second in the high jump with a leap of 5-00. 

Tanner boys finishing top-three included Batista, second in the 55 dash (6.67); Brian Stevens, second in the 600 (1:26.75), Owen Brennan, second in the 1,000 (PR 2:40.78); Evan Bedard, second in the long jump (21-04.75); Stevens, Brennan, Omar Mishal and Mohamed Lhassouani, second in the 4×400 (3:34.43); Hannington Senfuma, third in the high jump (6-00); Doryln Morel, third in the 300 (PR 37.09); Declan Smith, third in the mile (PR 4;33.13); Peyton Smith, third in the 55 hurdles (8.11), and Areno Saint-Victor, third in the shot put (PR 45-04.50).

The Marblehead boys finished third with 65 points. Thomas Carlson won the 55-meter dash (PR 6.56), while Nathaniel Assa won the 2-mile (9:47.52) and Alex Hersey won the long jump (21-05.75). Hersey also finished second in the 55 hurdles (PR 7.79). 

Other top-three finishers included Isaac Gross, second in the mile (4:29.70); William Cruickshank, Gross, Will Cerrutti and Xavier Grazado, third in the 4×800 (8:52.29), and Carlson, Hersey, Slater Johnson and Jacob Bobowski, third in the 4×200 (1:37.00).

Swampscott (10 points) and Saugus (3) finished seventh and eighth, respectively. The Big Blue’s top effort was turned in by Caleb Leopoldo who finished runner-up in the shot put (PR 47-08.50). The Sachems’ top performer was Kaleeb Mathieu. He finished sixth in two events: 55 dash (PR 6.89) and long jump (19-04.50).
