After finishing second to Celtic last term, the Gers will be eager to go one better and dethrone their rivals as Scottish Premiership champions, and having not got off to the best start, they parted ways with Michael Beale in October.

In his place, the Gers signed Belgian manager Philippe Clement, who managed Ligue 1 side AS Monaco as recently as June. The 49-year-old has no Scottish football experience but spent one year down south with Coventry City in the 1990s.

Lawrence Shankland – Hearts: Despite the recent arrival of Fabio Silva, reports have claimed the Gers still hold an interest in the red hot Lawrence Shankland this month.

As they continue to chase the league leaders, Clement could look to bring in more options at the top of the league and Shankland is certainly a player familiar with the Scottish Premiership.

The Hearts striker is in fine form having found the back of the net seven times in his last six league outings for the Jam Tarts (via Transfermarkt).

Million Manhoef – Vitesse: According to the Scottish Sun, Rangers are plotting a swoop to sign forward Million Manhoef from the struggling Eredivisie outfit this month.

The report claims the Gers could have to spend in the region of £2.5m to prise the Dutch forward away from his homeland as they look to add firepower to Clement’s frontline.

Manhoef has had a steady start to the campaign in the Netherlands with Vitesse having scored four goals in his 15 league appearances this campaign (via Transfermarkt).

And the Scottish side face some stern competition from England if they are to secure his services this month with the Championship leaders, Leicester City, and Preston North End believed to be interested.

Ridvan Yilmaz: According to reports, Ridvan Yilmaz could be a potential departure over the coming weeks with Clement keen to replace the 22-year-old if he is to exit.

The Gers reportedly interested in Hellas Verona star Josh Doig, it is also claimed the Serie A outfit are keen on Yilmaz from Rangers which has created speculation over a potential swap deal.

Yilmaz has been a recent feature in the Rangers squad amid the injury to Borna Barasic, but it is apparent he is not first choice when Clement has all of his options available.
