press-releases

LYNN— The Fire Department arrived at City Hall Tuesday morning after a report of a freon leak from a refrigerator located on the first floor at approximately 10:30 a.m. The leak created a haze emanating from the refrigerator, but was resolved by first responders by 11 a.m. Individuals were evacuated and allowed back inside by 11 a.m. as well. According to Mayor Jared Nicholson, no injuries or ailments occurred.

“Some of the workers in the building damaged a refrigerant line that was feeding an ice maker,” District Fire Chief Dan Sullivan said. “The ice maker has been removed from the building, we used fans to clear the air to make sure there was no residual (freon).”

This is a breaking news story, and further developments will be reported as they occur.
